Progress Proud to Sponsor hackTECH Hackathon

There are few things more exciting in the tech world than a hackathon. It’s our marathon — where innovation clashes with sleep deprivation, and technical minds come together to transform ideas into reality through the use of technology.

At Progress, we’re proud to be a sponsor of hackTECH, the largest hackathon on the west coast, taking place this Friday, January 24th through Sunday, January 26th in Santa Monica, California. hackTECH brings together more than 50 area schools and more than 1,500 students for 36 hours of straight creativity and coding. Teams of students will work together to solve a problem or bring an idea to life however they see fit — by building a website, designing an app, or developing hardware.

Progress will be on-site during the event this weekend, giving students the opportunity to develop applications using the Progress Pacific PaaS, including the Progress Rollbase application development platform. Those who use Progress APIs will be up for Progress’ hackTECH API prize. With the increasing importance of connected devices, extra consideration will be given to students who incorporate the “Internet of Things” into their hacks.
